At the beginning of the 20th century, the Armazéns Cogumbreiro building was the largest warehouse in
the Azores. Goods passed through its doors, but so did neighbours, conversations and stories.
Its neoclassical façade and pine interior witnessed decades of vision, community and family labour.
Years of silence ended when the family decided to open the doors again. Under the guidance of architect
Manuel Aires Mateus, each beam was restored and each tile carefully chosen.
It wasn’t about erasing the past but giving it new breath. Thus a guesthouse and café were born where you can still smell the wood and hear old voices on the stairs.

Today, whoever crosses these doors feels part of the story. Guests are treated like friends and invited to write their own pages in this living building. More than a stay, it is an encounter with a place that still pulses.
Welcome to Armazens Cogumbreiro.
A commercial house that never lost its soul.
